Do I need to see my Doctor before I see a Physical Therapist.
No. Massachusetts is a state that allows Diect Access to Physical Therapy. However, some insurance companies require a prescription or insurance referral.
What should I wear?
We recommend that you wear loose, comfortable clothing and athletic shoes.
What do I need to bring with me for my first Physical Therapy appointment?
For your first appointment, or initial evaluation, you will need to bring your insurance card and driver's license with you. If your doctor gave you any paperwork or documentation please bring that with you as well. You will need to fill out a New Patient Intake Packet before your first visit, so please arrive 5-10 minutes early.
What physical therapy insurance plans are accepted at your facility?
Train Boston Physical Therapy accepts most health insurances!
How often will I see my Physical Therapist?
Patients are typically booked 2-3 days/week based on their individual treatment plan.
Does your facility use Physical Therapy Assistants?
No, we do not use any Physical Therapy Aids. Patients will work one-on-one with a Licensed Physical Therapist at all times.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
If you have a Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO plan, a Tufts HMO Plan, or Neighborhood Health Plan, you will need a referral from your primary care physician. If you are a Medicare patient, you will need a prescription from your primary care or referring physician.
