What makes our approach to training so effective is that we bring a team concept to your individual needs. Our multi-disciplinary staff, including physical therapists, certified personal trainers, athletic trainers, massage therapists and chiropractors, will be involved in the consult and design of your training program.


Dr. Jim Guo
Dr. Jim received his doctoral degree in Chiropractic Medicine from the National College of Chiropractic, and his masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture. Dr. Jim is among a select group of health professionals in the nation with degrees in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Chiropractic and Fitness Training. With his broad base of knowledge and combined studies, he has developed a dynamic, integrated, holistic healing method.

Dr. Harlan Rieur
Dr. Harlan Rieur joins the team at Train Boston with over 20 years of experience as a Chiropractic Physician. He is board ceritified and received his license in 1984. He specializes in several areas including disorders of the extremities, and headaches. HIs highly effective technical expertise, coupled with a relaxed, straightforward, fun, and professional approach is valued by all who experience his work.

Trice Stevens
Trice joins the team at Train Boston as the general manager of the facility. Her experience of 28 years in fitness has refined her expertise in the industry. She entered the fitness industry in 1978, teaching aerobics and later coupled that with personal training. Later in her career she opened four corporate fitness facilities in Chicago. Trice has also done extensive work and study with people and thier families who have eating disorders.


Lindsay Bentis
Lindsay comes to Train Boston with over 8 years experience in Pilates instruction and practice. She is trained in the Stott Pilates Method and also has done extensive work in California with the Physical Mind Institute. Her gentle yet effective approach, coupled with her knowledge makes for a fulfilling workout, both mentally and physically.

Michael Cook
Michael has nine years of Certified Athletic Training (ATC) experience and is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Michael is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, the Athletic Trainers of Massachusetts, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and the NSCA Special Interest Group on Figure Skating.

Nick Downing
Nick joins the staff at Train Boston after a professional soccer career. He spent three seasons playing for the New England Revolution after being drafted as the team’s first round pick in 2001. He is involved with youth and Adult Group Training, personal training, and administrative responsibilities at Train Boston.

Andy Ford
Andy received his BS in exercise physiology/sports medicine at U Mass - Boston. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and works with a wide variety of individuals and teams. He believes in building a strong foundation first to create base strength, which then can be turned and enhanced into power and speed development.

Tim Kiley
Tim Kiley has joined the team of physical therapists at Train Boston and is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He recently earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Miami, FL. Whether it is to rehabilitate from injury or to train for life, Tim believes in tailoring the approach to meet the needs and goals of the individual.

Kathie McCarthy
Kathie McCarthy has joined the team of physical therapists at Train Boston. Her 15 years of expertise and experience is be a valuable asset to the staff. A graduate of Boston University’s Sargent College, her focus has been in orthopedics and sports medicine. Her treatment philosophy focuses on creating normal joint mobility, muscle strength and flexibility to optimize function and eliminate pain.

Brendan O'Neill
Brendan joined the Train Boston team in 2001 and has built a strong following of clients (youth and adult) seeking specialized exercise routines to overcome injury and establish a high level of fitness. Brendan is the youth director at Train Boston and is a Certified Personal Trainer, (CPT) and also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).

Mike Perry
Mike joins the Train Boston team bringing expertise in the sport of soccer as well as in strength and conditioning. Mike’s training ability ranges from working with de-conditioned youths, adolescents, college and professional athletes. His energy, creativity and knowledge create a fun, successful training environment for his clients. Mike is a certified personal trainer (CPT) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NCSA).

Emily Pinto
A part of the Train Boston team for over six years, Emily has become an asset to our health-focused members. She has a lot of experience working with different age groups as well as different injuries and fitness levels. She believes in developing a program that incorporates functional training as well as proper muscle balance and posture.

Susan Shale
Susan’s training experience began with Train Boston in 1998. Susan believes that exercise and physical activity are the keys to increased energy, managing stress and maintaining an overall healthy spirit. Sue has hosted a clinic for adolescent exercisers, teaching them the importance of stretching and off-season exercise to prevent injuries. Susan is a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT).

Mitch Shechtman
Mitch began his training career in 1992 and has extensive experience with clients ranging from ages 11-82 years old. He has worked with athletes, pre and post natal population, accomplished runners, clients struggling with obesity, stroke victims and people recovering from orthopedic injuries. Mitch was awarded the Best of Boston 2003 for personal training.

Adam Vogel
Adam comes to Train Boston with six years of experience in the health and fitness industry. He has held positions as an independent trainer, manager, and coach at larger health clubs in Boston. Adam was named one of the top personal trainers in Boston by Scene Magazine, and has been featured in articles in the Boston Herald and The Weekly Dig.
